24-Hour Closure Planned for Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is advising drivers that a section of Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill will be closed for 24 hours between 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 23rd, to allow for a permanent slope repair at the recently deployed temporary bridge site.
The 24-hour closure is required for crews to remove the temporary bridge that was installed earlier this month after a large volume of rock damaged the road, and is necessary for blasting to continue at the site.
At 11:00 a.m. on February 23rd, the highway will reopen to single-late alternating traffic, allowing commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, and other larger vehicles to safely travel through the corridor, after which point the regular project closure schedule will resume.
