Check Official Sources for the Latest Updates on Highway 4 to Tofino/Ucluelet
Highway 4 to Tofino and Ucluelet is temporarily closed to the public with limited openings for essential travel. The closure was caused by an unexpectedly large volume of rock falling on rain-saturated ground during a scheduled blast early on Thursday, Jan. 23, as part of the Highway 4 – Kennedy Hill Safety Improvement project.
This is a highly complex and much-needed construction project that will significantly improve driver safety once complete; unexpected issues occur and emergency and communication protocols have been activated to ensure driver safety, accurate incident information and reduced inconvenience.
