TITLE: Temporary Janitor Labourer

Position: The District of Tofino is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Temporary Janitor Labourer under the Engineering and Public Works Department from June 29, 2020 (start date negotiable) with an expected end date of December 30, 2020.
Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Foreman, the Temporary Janitor Labourer is responsible for cleaning and maintaining District facilities, washrooms, and fleet vehicles. These duties are generally physical in nature and require the use of simple tools, cleaning products and equipment. A criminal record check will be required prior to job start.

Hours of Work & Salary: The wage is $23.11 per hour plus 14.8% in lieu of vacation time and benefits (after successful completion of a 60-day probation period the base wage increases to $25.68 per hour). The work week is 40 hours per week, and may include work on Saturdays and Sundays, comprised of an 8 hour workday between the hours of 6am and 7pm, as operations dictate. As this position is included in the Union (CUPE Local 118), all terms and conditions of employment will be governed by the terms of the Collective Agreement.
