TITLE:                               Utilities Worker I

DEPARTMENT:              Infrastructure and Public Works

The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Utilities Worker I on a casual basis within the Infrastructure & Public Works Department.

Under the general direction of the Utilities Lead/Water Operator and the Public Works Superintendent, the Utilities Worker I is responsible for duties involved in assisting with the construction and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and the daily operation and maintenance of the District’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

Hours of Work & Salary:

This position is a casual relief position used during periods of staff shortages to perform the role of

Utilities Worker I.  The hourly rate for the position is $28.24 plus an additional 14.8% in lieu of benefits

and statutory holidays. This position is subject to a probation period, during which the hourly wage is

$25.42 and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement between CUPE Local 118

and the District of Tofino.
