Single-Use Plastics: #BYOBag!

The Districts of Tofino and Ucluelet, working with Surfrider Pacific Rim, are working toward regulations that ban single-use plastic bags and straws in an effort to reduce their impacts on municipal services and the environment.

Improperly disposed-of plastic bags litter communities, and can eventually end up in rivers and oceans where they break into small, toxic and unrecoverable pieces.

While the District of Tofino is concerned about other single-use items and the waste that they generate too, we’re making this one important, small step to raise awareness and promote positive consumer behaviours.
