TOFINO MULTI USE PATH (MUP) CONSTRUCTION BEGINS SEPTEMBER 10TH
Update: This notice has been revised to show the updated start date of September 17, 2018
The District of Tofino is working towards improving and widening the Multi-Use Path (MUP). On Monday, September 17th, 2018 construction will begin on a section of the MUP damaged by tree roots. The work involves the complete replacement of approx. 350 lineal metres of MUP to an increased paved width of 3 metres. There will be some tree removal. Root guards will be installed to prevent further damage. The end result will be a smoother, wider and safer MUP at this location.
Addresses most affected by construction are:
1040 Campbell Street to 1088 Pacific Rim Highway (“Red Crow Corner/Hill”)
The work is anticipated to take approximately 2 weeks. For public safety, the MUP at this location will be closed to pedestrian and cycling traffic while construction is underway, Monday to Friday, 7:30-5:00 pm. School bus pick up locations may be altered slightly to ensure student safety.
The community’s patience and cooperation during construction is appreciated.
