Posted: September 2, 2021

The District of Tofino is continuing to work towards improving the safety and condition of Tofino’s Multi-Use Path (MUP). Construction on two sections of MUP damaged by roots is scheduled to begin the week of September 7. Addresses most affected by construction are:

1200 Pacific Rim Highway (Sharp Road) to 1258 Pacific Rim Highway (“Hotel Zed”)

 AND

1350 Pacific Rim Highway (Sandpiper Place) to 1360 Pacific Rim Highway (Jensen’s Bay Road)

The work involves the widening and resurfacing of approximately 760 lineal metres of MUP resulting in a smoother, wider and safer MUP. The work is anticipated to take approximately 3 weeks.

The contract for the project has been awarded to Gibson Brothers Contracting Ltd.

Please exercise caution and obey signage when navigating through or around the work area.

This project is funded by Tofino’s participation in the BC Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) program.
