Call for Artists: 2S/LGBTQIA+ & Reconciliation Crosswalk

The District of Tofino is currently seeking proposals from artists for two permanent decorative crosswalks in the downtown corridor.

2S/LGBTQIA+ Crosswalk

In collaboration with the Coastal Queer Alliance, the District is currently seeking proposals from artists to design a permanent 2S/LGBTQIA+ decorative crosswalk. This vibrant display of inclusivity will be located in the heart of Tofino at the intersection of Campbell Street and First Street, between the Post Office and Driftwood Gifts.

Reconciliation Crosswalk

Through consultation with Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, the District invites proposals from artists to create a permanent decorative Reconciliation crosswalk design to be installed at the intersection of Main Street and First Street, between the Tofino Co-op Hardware Store parking lot and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.⁠

For each crosswalk, the selected Artist(s) will receive an honorarium of $2,000.
