Damage/cleaning deposits for events under 4hrs

$250.00(GST included)

Damage/cleaning deposits for events over 4hrs $500.00(GST included)
Events including alcohol shall have an additional damage/cleaning deposit $100.00 (GST included)

** Events concluding past 10pm must pay the full day rental fee and are required to give a $500.00 damage/cleaning deposit.

To Confirm/Reserve Space

Deposit must be paid at time of booking or up to 5 business days prior to the event to secure hall bookings. Rental fees can be paid any time up to the event.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to rental time or renter will be subject to loss of damage deposit.  Damage deposits must be received at least 5 business days prior to the event to secure facility bookings.

Community Hall Items

Items in the Community Hall, such as tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment, are included in any hall rental for groups who have paid their fees in full. Please note, the Community Hall inventory is subject to change as items are not monitored on a daily basis. We ask that all hall users respect the equipment and return it to its appropriate place when through with use.

The Community Hall kitchen is furnished with the following equipment, available for use during your booking:

  • 1 Electric stove (household)
  • 1 Propane stove (household)
  • 1 Full size Fridge with freezer
  • 2 Dishwashers
  • 2 Double Sinks
  • Concession style window

Cleaning of Hall

Clean up is required to be completed immediately after the function or event. Events with more than 100 persons in attendance will be required to have the hall professionally cleaned. The client must arrange this prior to event. Failure to do so will result in the cleaning costs being deducted from client’s damage deposit. A copy of the paid invoice or a receipt must be provided before the damage deposit is returned.

Community Hall Cleaning Criteria:
Hall must be returned to its original condition.

  • Kitchen surfaces wiped down
  • Oven and range cleaned of any spillage
  • Sinks cleaned
  • Refrigerators wiped out of any spills
  • All garbage removed
  • Recycling removed
  • Floor dry mopped or wet mopped if necessary (mops in storage room)
  • Bathrooms cleaned of debris and splashes
  • All bathroom garbage removed
  • Floor swept and mopped
  • Main hall tables and chairs folded and stored against the wall in an organized fashion – NOT in the storage room please.
  • Outside decks cleaned of any debris including any cigarette butts
  • Exterior checked for any refuse
  • Doors locked and windows covered

*Please be sure to lock dumpster upon departure, using the small key on the Community Hall key ring. This brass key also opens the sliding window covers on the outside of the building.

Liquor License Requirements

Events with alcohol MUST HAVE a Special Occasions License; applications can be picked up from any BC Liquor Store or found online. Please note that local government and police approval is required for all public special events, and may be required for private special events. It is the duty of the user to determine the requirements of liquor licenses and to adhere to the conditions contained therein. If you do require a license you will need to provide us with a copy of the approved license for our records. User should be aware of their responsibilities for their event attendees to arrive home safely and should make any arrangements for Designated Drivers to be available for their attendees.

Catering Services

The Community Hall has a Food Safe approved kitchen; however, catering services are not included in the hall rental. For a list of local restaurants or catering services please refer to Tourism Tofino or the Tofino Chamber of Commerce.


Events licensed to serve alcohol, or events that will have more than 100 people in attendance, must have additional liability insurance naming the District of Tofino as additionally insured. You may purchase insurance for your event using the Municipal Insurance Association of BC’s online portal, or through your broker.
