Public Notice

Pursuant to the District of Tofino Purchasing and Disposition of Assets Policy, notice is hereby given that the District of Tofino intends to sell the following asset to Earth, Land, & Sea Compost Gravelmart in Port Alberni, BC.

• Fleet Unit 2: 1994 GMC Top Kick Dump Truck (2-wheel drive)
  • Vehicle is currently located in Port Alberni at Aggressive Truck Repair
  • Vehicle is not currently drivable as it requires critical repairs including:
    • Steering Box and Pump assembly
    • Steering Shaft U-Joint
    • Steering Tie Rods
    • Front Brakes
    • King Pins
    • Transmission output leak
    • Replace Water Pump Belt
    • Front Spring Bushings
    • Bent Crossmember
    • Broken Tie Rod
    • Current mileage of the vehicle is 71, 390 kms.

The sale of this asset is as a result of the estimated repair costs of $10,200.00, exceeding the overall value of the truck. The revenue and proceeds generated from the sale will be allocated and applied to the District’s financial planning process.

The sale price for Fleet Unit 2 is $8,000.00. The asset is being sold in accordance with the District of Tofino Purchasing and Disposition of Assets Policy.

Public notice of this disposition will be posted until May 29, 2023 at 4:00 PM via the Westerly New, the BC Bid website at https://bcbid.gov.bc.ca Bid ID #BPM086534 and on the District of Tofino’s website www.tofino.ca.
