The Tofino Volunteer Fire Department is looking for dedicated and community-minded individuals to join its team of volunteers. This is a chance to make a difference, gain valuable skills, and become part of a proud tradition of service that has been safeguarding the community since 1959.
Why Volunteer?
Since being established in 1959, the Tofino Volunteer Fire Department has relied on the commitment and dedication of community members to deliver fire protection and emergency services. Volunteering requires significant time and effort, but it provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in serving the community.
Training and Commitment
Recruits will participate in a comprehensive Recruit Training Program, which includes:
- Hands-on Training: Rigorous physical exercises designed to prepare for real-life emergency scenarios.
- Technical Classroom Sessions: Instruction on the fundamentals of firefighting and emergency response.
Graduates of the program will join the department as active emergency response team members.
