The purpose of the Advisory Group is to consider the appropriate level of compensation for service on Council as Mayor or as a councillor, and to make recommendations to Council to be considered for implementation during the following Council term.

The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust, a registered non-profit and charitable organization, manages an endowment fund dedicated to research, education, and training initiatives that promote the region's ecological and community resilience. By serving on the Board of Directors, individuals will contribute to strategic decision-making processes that help sustain the area's natural and cultural heritage.

Become an Emergency Management Volunteer and put your passion for emergency management to work to assist individuals, families and communities impacted by small or large disasters and emergencies.

Volunteer Service Award

Volunteer Recognition Award nominations are accepted year-round! Nominate an individual or organization that goes above and beyond in our community.

Eligibility Criteria

Nominations can be for an individual or an organization. A nomination will be considered two times after its submission. Incomplete nomination forms will not be considered.

Individuals eligible for nomination must:

  • Reside in or near the District of Tofino;
  • Provide volunteer work or service within the District of Tofino;
  • Not be paid to do the volunteer work (i.e., volunteer work is done on an individual’s personal time).

Organizations eligible for nomination must:

  • Be based in or near the District of Tofino;
  • Provide for volunteer work or services within the District of Tofino;
  • Not pay for the majority of the work (i.e. volunteer work is a significant component of the project/organization).

Individuals and organizations that are NOT eligible include:

  • Current Volunteer Recognition Committee members;
  • Mayor and Council;
  • Those individuals or organizations who have received a Volunteer Service Award within the past five years.
