Stay Safe

• Hike in groups
• Make noise while hiking
• Stay alert by watching & listening for bear activity
• Keep dogs leashed while on the trail

If You Encounter A Bear

• Stay calm
• Give the bear space
• Do not make eye contact or run
• Do not drop objects, clothing or food to distract the bear
• Back away slowly
• Leave the area or make a wide detour
