Guided by the community vision and goals for the future, District of Tofino Council and staff work together to articulate the strategic priorities and key deliverables.
The District of Tofino Council is made up of a Mayor and six Councillors who are each elected at large for a four-year term. The Mayor serves as the head of the municipality and chairs all Council meetings when in attendance. The Chief Administrative Officer reports to Council and directs staff to carry out the mandate of the organization and our priorities.

The next Tofino election is Saturday, October 15, 2022. Electors will vote for: 6 (six) Councillors.

The District of Tofino is looking for two qualified candidates to fill the casual relief position of Public Works Labourer.
Reporting to the Labour Foreperson, under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent, the Public Works Labourer is responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled public works tasks and duties. These duties are generally physical in nature and require the use of simple tools and equipment.
The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Office Assistant – Financial Services.
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, the Office Assistant – Financial Services performs entry level accounting work and moderately complex clerical work which includes the central cashier function and the handling of cash, front line customer service, cemetery administration, and administrative support to Financial Services and other areas of the District as required.
This position is required to exercise independent judgement while following established processes and procedures in carrying out job duties.
