District of Tofino Public Works crews successfully isolated and repaired a leak on a submarine water pipeline connecting Tofino to its drinking water reservoirs on Meares Island in the Haahuulthii of the Tla-o-qui-aht Ha’wiih. Stage 2 Water Conservation remains in effect, and all other temporary restrictions have been lifted.

contained in the “District of Tofino Development Approval Procedures Bylaw No. 1301, 2021”, that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 5:00pm at the Council Chambers in the Tofino Municipal Hall at 380 Campbell Street.
Facilities Maintenance Worker – Casual
The District of Tofino is looking for two qualified candidates to fill the casual relief position of Facilities Maintenance Worker.
Reporting to Labour Foreman, the Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for cleaning District facilities, washrooms, and fleet vehicles. These duties are generally physical in nature and require the use of simple tools, cleaning products and equipment.

May 2023 has been a significantly hotter and drier month than usual. On average, Tofino receives ~150mm of rain in May, this year Tofino has received only ~4.2mm of rain to date. Tofino’s water consumption is up as well, an increase of 10% from May 2022 (up to May 21), and up 50% from 2021.
