The District of Tofino will begin Phase 1 of the Main Street Watermain Improvements Project on Wednesday, April 27, 2026.

The District of Tofino wishes to remind residents that Downtown Pay Parking will be in effect from May 1 to October 31, 2026 from 9 AM to 6 PM daily.

The District is excited to unveil two new public art crosswalks, now on display in downtown Tofino.

The District of Tofino will mark Earth Day on April 22, 2026, with the official implementation of its amended Single-Use Item Regulation Bylaw, making Tofino the first municipality in Canada to prohibit the sale of single-use plastic water bottles one litre and less.

Under the District’s Wildlife Attractant Bylaw, all property owners and occupants share a responsibility to properly secure garbage and other attractants.

Please be advised that both parking lots at the District of Tofino Municipal Office will be closed to the general public and reserved exclusively for a Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation community event from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 19, 2026.

The District of Tofino is marking ten years of the High Ground Hike, alongside a series of tsunami preparedness events, including workshops, hands-on learning opportunities, and a simulated evacuation exercise.

The District of Tofino has been selected as a recipient of provincial funding to support community-based events celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026.
