Join the Emergency Support Services Team

The District of Tofino is currently looking for passionate volunteers to join the Emergency Support Services (ESS) team. If you love helping others and want to make a difference in your community, this is your chance. Your participation can provide vital assistance and hope to those affected by emergencies.
During an emergency, as an ESS volunteer, you will:
- Connect evacuees with essential services such as food, clothing, and shelter.
- Support family reunification and offer emotional assistance.

Commitment
Volunteers are expected to commit to the following:
- Quarterly meetings
- Participation in annual training exercises and drills.
- Flexible response time during emergencies based on availability.
Training
No prior experience is required. The District of Tofino covers all training costs, ensuring you are well-prepared through comprehensive courses provided by the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
