The District of Tofino is pleased to highlight a new project by Tofino’s Poet Laureate, Janice Lore, that brings together local voices, public art, and place-based storytelling.

Fantastic Ekphrastic Tofino: A Poetic Tour of Tofino's Public Art is a curated collection of poetry written by local contributors, inspired by Tofino’s public art installations.

The book is available for purchase at Mermaid Tales and Tourism Tofino for $20.

All proceeds directly support the Tofino Poet Laureate program and related activities.

The project received generous funding and support from the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust and the Tofino Arts Council.

Poetree Night Celebration

You are invited to experience poetry in person tomorrow night at the Poetree Night event. Copies of Fantastic Ekphrastic Tofino will be available for purchase during the event, and featured poets will be present to share readings from the collection.

Explore Tofino’s Public Art Year-Round

To further connect poetry with place, the Tofino Arts Council offers two self-guided public art walks that residents and visitors can enjoy at any time. These walks highlight many of the installations featured in the book.
