Municipal Election 2026

Cast Your Vote This October

The 2026 General Local Election will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots to elect one Mayor and six Councillors to represent the District of Tofino Council.

This webpage will provide key election information, including voter eligibility, voting opportunities, candidate details, important dates and election results.

Why Vote?

Local elections give eligible voters the opportunity to help choose the Mayor and Councillors who will represent Tofino and make decisions on behalf of the community.

Council decisions affect many of the services and issues residents experience every day, including roads, water and sewer services, fire protection, policing, parks and recreation, waste management, land use planning, business licensing and community infrastructure.

Voting helps ensure that the priorities and perspectives of the community are reflected in local decision-making. It is both a democratic right and an important way to participate in Tofino’s future.

Eligible voters are encouraged to cast a ballot and help others in the community access the information they need to vote.
