The District of Tofino is inviting community members to apply for volunteer positions on five Council Advisory Committees.

Council Advisory Committees play an important role in local government by bringing community perspectives, knowledge and experience into municipal decision-making. Committee members provide advice and recommendations to Council on matters that help shape Tofino's future.

Serving on an advisory committee is an opportunity to get involved in the community, share ideas and contribute to discussions about issues that matter to residents.

The District is currently recruiting for the following committees:

  • Accessibility Committee: Provides advice on improving accessibility and identifying, preventing and removing barriers for people with disabilities.
  • Design Review Panel: Reviews and provides advice on the design of proposed developments in designated areas of Tofino.
  • Public Art Advisory Committee: Provides recommendations on public art projects, initiatives and opportunities.
  • Events, Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee: Advises on initiatives, programs and policies that support Tofino's arts, culture, heritage and events sectors.
  • Recreation Advisory Committee: Provides advice on recreation services, programs, parks and facilities.

Community members with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives are encouraged to explore these opportunities and consider applying.

Applications close Friday, November 20, 2026.
