Reopened: Campbell Street
Campbell Street has reopened to traffic as of 5 PM. This follows the temporary closure caused by last night’s storm. Residents and visitors can now travel safely through the area, with traffic flowing in both directions.
The closure began late Tuesday afternoon, November 19, 2024, after trees and powerlines fell across Campbell Street between the Gas N Go and Coop Gas Bars.
Crews worked diligently to clear the debris and ensure the area was safe for travel.
The District of Tofino thanks all crews for their hard work in getting the road reopened. Appreciation is also extended to residents for their patience and understanding during the closure.

Beach Access Closures
For the safety of all residents and visitors, the District of Tofino has temporarily closed beach access to all beaches within the District.
This closure is due to the issued Special Weather Statement, which states, “Elevated ocean water levels accompanied by significant wind and waves are expected.” These conditions pose serious risks to anyone near the shoreline.
Please follow these safety recommendations:
• Stay well back from the water’s edge.
• Refrain from visiting beach access points until they are reopened.
• Adhere to all posted signage.
Beach access will remain closed until conditions improve and it is safe to reopen.
