Public Notice

Effective date:  May 10-17, 2023 (this work is now complete as of May 17, 2023)

Crews are replacing several valves on the sewer lift stations along Lynn Road in the Chesterman Beach area (see map below). Lynn Road access will be disrupted from just South of the North Chesterman Beach Public access, to the Middle Chesterman/Frank Island Public Beach Access from May 10 - 17, 2023. Door knocking will take place in the days leading up to construction and public notices will be issued on Tofino.ca and via social media.

The North Chesterman Public Beach Access and Parking lot will remain open throughout this construction work. However the public washrooms at this location may be closed.

The Middle Chesterman/Frank Island Public Beach Access and Parking lot will remain open throughout this construction work.

Wednesday, May 10th, 2023

Preparation work will begin on Lynn Road to begin excavation at the sewer stations. The road will remain open during this time.

 

Thursday, May 11th, 2023

Excavation work will begin at the Lynn Road sewer station #8. Lynn Road, South of the North Chesterman Public Beach Access will be closed to all public traffic, only resident traffic will be permitted. The road will remain closed overnight until work is complete. The estimated opening of Lynn Road is end-of-day Friday, May 12th, 2023.

 

Friday, May 12th, 2023

Excavation work will continue at the Lynn Road sewer station #8. Lynn Road, South of the North Chesterman Public Beach Access will be closed to all public traffic, only resident traffic will be permitted. The road will remain closed until work is complete, estimated end of day Friday, May 12th, 2023.

 

Saturday, May 13th, 2023

Lynn Road will be open to all traffic over the weekend.

 

Sunday, May 14th, 2023

Lynn Road will be open to all traffic over the weekend.

 

Monday, May 15th, 2023
