Posted: Aug 10, 2026 | By: Communications
The District of Tofino is pleased to share that the Tofino Community Hall kitchen renovation is now complete, and the kitchen has reopened for community use.
The renovation has transformed the kitchen into a fully equipped commercial kitchen designed to support a wide range of community programs, cultural gatherings, events and rentals.
The upgraded kitchen provides a safer, more functional and flexible space for:
- Local food programs and community organizations
- Cooking, food preparation and food preservation workshops
- Youth programs and senior luncheons
- Local food producers
- Community events and facility rentals
- Food preparation and community support during emergencies
The renewed space includes commercial kitchen equipment, a new commercial hood vent and air system, repaired flooring, updated work areas and fresh interior paint.
These improvements bring the kitchen up to commercial health and safety standards while creating more opportunities for residents, organizations and community groups to use the space.
Grand Opening Celebration
The District will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, November 6, 2026, to mark the completion of the project and showcase some of the ways the renewed kitchen can support community programs, events and activities.
More details about the celebration will be shared closer to the date.

The Tofino Community Hall and its renewed kitchen are available for community programs, gatherings, events and rentals.
