On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the District of Tofino and contractors will install a water taxi shelter at the First Street Dock. This project will provide a covered area for those waiting for transportation to and from offshore communities, enhancing comfort and convenience for all users.

Installation Details
The shelter will be installed starting at approximately 07:45 AM. The installation procedure is expected to take less than one hour. This time has been selected to avoid the morning rush of school and work-related traffic.

Public Access
Public access to the dock during the installation will be limited to pedestrians only; no vehicle access will be permitted during this time. Crews will guide pedestrians safely past the work zone. In the event of an emergency, access to and from the dock will remain available at all times.
