The District of Tofino invites residents to attend the Inaugural Meeting of Council on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the Clayoquot Sound Theatre.

The meeting will mark the beginning of a new Council term, with the Mayor-elect and six acclaimed Councillors taking their oaths of office.

The ceremony will include a bilingual rendition of O Canada performed by members of the Tofino Choir, the official swearing-in of Mayor and Council and an inaugural address by Mayor Tom Stere. Tofino's Poet Laureate, Kaela Aryn, will also share a special poem to mark the occasion.

Following the ceremony and a brief Council meeting, attendees are invited to enjoy a reception with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and connect with Tofino's newly sworn-in Council.

The District looks forward to welcoming community members to this special occasion as Council begins its term.
