A reminder that property taxes are due by end of day Wednesday, July 2, 2025. A 10% penalty will be applied to all unpaid property taxes received after this date.

Possible Canada Post Service Disruption
A Canada Post service disruption may begin as early as May 23, 2025. In the event of a strike, payment by mail is not advised. Please see below for alternative payment methods to ensure your payment is received by the due date.

Please note:

• The tax due date will not be extended due to a postal strike.
• The postmark date will not be accepted as proof of on-time payment.

ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT METHODS

In-Person Payments

Payments can be made at the District of Tofino Municipal Office during regular office hours. Accepted payment types include:

• Cash
• Cheque
• Interac
• Bank draft

Secure 24-Hour Drop-Off

Payment in sealed envelopes may be deposited in the secure mail slot at the Municipal Office entrance.

Online Banking
Property taxes can be paid through your financial institution’s online banking platform. Payments should be submitted at least four (4) business days before the due date to allow for processing time.

Telephone Banking
Most financial institutions also offer telephone banking as a payment option.

Mortgage Company Payments
If your property tax is paid through your mortgage, please confirm the arrangement with your mortgage provider.
