Water Conservation Stage 1 To Be Lifted Tuesday, September 16, 2025

Effective Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the District of Tofino will lift Water Conservation Stage 1, which was put in place on June 10, 2025, to promote water conservation and minimize the risk of additional restrictions during the summer.
The decision to lift Stage 1 is based on current water supply data, which shows that present and forecasted conditions will ensure a secure and stable water supply for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Thanks to the conservation efforts of residents, businesses, and visitors, combined with periodic wet weather throughout the summer and the expertise in water system management by the utility operations staff, the District of Tofino maintained sufficient water levels throughout the summer, avoiding the need for increased water conservation stages.
For Businesses
As of Tuesday, September 16, 2025, businesses are encouraged to remove any water conservation informational materials that were required to be posted when Stage 1 was introduced in June. The District recommends storing these materials for reuse in future years.
