Poetry Party with Janice & Kaela

The community is invited to celebrate poetry, creativity and the transition of Tofino’s Poet Laureate at a free afternoon gathering hosted by Janice Lore and Kaela Aryn.

The event will celebrate the conclusion of Janice Lore’s tenure as Tofino’s Poet Laureate and welcome Kaela Aryn as she begins her new role.

Community members of all ages are invited to take part in an open mic featuring poetry, stories and songs. Participants can share their own work or have someone read it on their behalf. Young writers are also encouraged to participate.

The theme for the afternoon is joy. Guests are encouraged to wear florals, bright colours or 1970s-inspired attire.

Moss & Milk Café will offer food and beverages during the event, with all profits supporting the Wickaninnish Community School Lunch Program and Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks Allies.
