Open House: Campbell Street Phase 3
Posted: Mar 4, 2026 | By: Communications
The District of Tofino is inviting the public to learn more about the Campbell Street – Phase 3 project, the final phase of the long-term revitalization of downtown Campbell Street.
This project will focus on upgrading the area from Second Street to the end of the road, overlooking Duffin Cove. The project will realize the community’s vision for a safe, accessible, and vibrant corridor that encourages walking, cycling, transit, and public gatherings in downtown Tofino.
The design builds on improvements already completed along Campbell Street while reflecting Tofino’s coastal character. Planned upgrades include continuous sidewalks, designated bicycle lanes, improved intersections, planting areas, and seating areas. Additional features include bus stop upgrades at First and Campbell and an upgraded viewpoint of Duffin Cove at the end of the road.
The current project design is approximately 75% complete. The original design was completed in 2022; however, the project was deferred after projected construction costs exceeded the available budget. Since that time, the design has been revised to reduce costs while maintaining the original design intent. The District is now preparing to move forward again, subject to the results of the competitive bidding process.
Attend the Open House
Residents are invited to drop in to the upcoming Open House to learn more about the project and review the current design. Attendees will be able to view project information boards, speak with District staff, ask questions, and provide feedback for consideration before the design is finalized.
