The District of Tofino is seeking contractors and instructors to lead various recreation programs starting in January 2025.

Beginning Monday, September 16, 2024, construction activities will begin on the Fourth and Gibson Street upgrades project, aiming to enhance infrastructure, safety, and connectivity in these areas.

Please be advised of a temporary road closure on the unpaved section of Gibson Street between First and Third Streets from 10 AM on Monday, September 16, to the end of the day on Tuesday, September 17.

Please be aware of an emergency watermain repair scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, 2024, on Arnet Road near Centennial Park. The repair will require a shutdown of water service to properties in the affected area.

Please be advised that filming activities for a television show will occur at Mackenzie Beach on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The District of Tofino has released a new Tsunami Safety Guide & Evacuation Map brochure, designed to help residents and visitors stay informed and prepared in the event of a tsunami.

Effective Monday, September 9, 2024, the District of Tofino will lift Stage 1 Water Restrictions. No remaining water restrictions will be in effect until further notice.

Please be aware that there has been recent bear sightings on the Tonquin Connector Trail. The public is advised to exercise caution when in the area.

Please be advised that the section of the Tonquin Trail leading from Tofino Community Hall to Tonquin Beach remains temporarily closed due to construction activities at the Headwaters apartment buildings.
