News & Announcements
The District of Tofino will replace the aging wooden stairs connecting the Tonquin Trail to Tonquin Beach near the Tofino Community Hall and Peterson Drive access from August 4–14, 2026.
A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 5 PM, in relation to an Official Community Plan amendment, related to a community housing project proposed for 740 Campbell Street.
To help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires, the Coastal Fire Centre will prohibit Category 1 campfires effective Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12 PM. This prohibition is in addition to the Category 2 and 3 fire prohibitions that have been in place since May 7, 2026.
