Renew Your Business Licence for 2026

District of Tofino 2026 business licence renewals are now open through the District’s online portal.

A valid business licence is required to operate in 2026.

Any licences not renewed by December 31, 2025, will be considered a late renewal and subject to a late fee.

Become a Tribal Park Ally

This year, as part of ongoing reconciliation efforts, the District is encouraging all businesses to register with the Tribal Parks Allies program, facilitated by Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation.

Participation in the program is voluntary and is not required to obtain a business licence. However, the District is using this renewal period to raise awareness about the program and to encourage businesses to join the 140+ local participants already supporting Indigenous stewardship and community sustainability.

How to Renew Your Business Licence

Businesses complete renewals through the online business licence portal, which allows you to submit your renewal at any time, quickly and securely.

The following information is required for all renewals:

• Current business information and contact details

• A completed, signed and uploaded Business License Renewal Amendment and Declaration Form
• Any further required supporting documents, depending on your business class

Those unable to complete their renewal online can visit the Municipal Office, where staff will assist in person. In-person applications can take 15 days longer to process compared to renewing online.

Please note: The Municipal Office is currently operating with temporarily reduced hours. Check for the most up-to-date hours before visiting.

Payment is accepted only after the District notifies you that your renewal application has been approved.

After approval and payment, the District will email your business licence.

Your business licence must be printed and displayed in a visible location to the public. Printed copies can be provided upon request.

Businesses No Longer Operating

If your business is no longer operating, please contact the District as soon as possible at business@tofino.ca or by phone at 250-725-3229 ext. 620.
