Mayor's Report
Mayor Law welcomed Nyla Attiana to the Council meeting in her first meeting as Chief Administrative Officer.
Presentation and Reports
Business Licence Regulation Bylaw No. 1239, 2022
Council gave third reading to the bylaw after amending Section 7.3(8)(c) to replace the 24-hour with 2-hours.
Recreation Advisory Committee
Council authorized staff to establish a Recreation Advisory Committee, accepted the proposed Terms of Reference and directed staff to begin the open call for member applications in June 2022. Council also approved staff to draft a sunset clause for the "Tofino Recreation Commission Establishment By-law No. 731, 1996.”
Permission to Proceed for 625 Neilson Place
Council granted permission to proceed with further review of the zoning amendment application for 625 Neilson Road. They also granted the Manager of Community Sustainability to schedule an Open House following first reading in lieu of a Public Hearing.
2022 Election Procedures Bylaw No. 1204.02, 2022
Council gave first, second and third reading to the 2022 Election Procedures bylaw. The amendment proposes changes to addresses mail ballot elector eligibility changes and changes pursuant to recent Local Government Act amendments.
