Public Notice: First Street Dock Closed due to Fuel Leak

Effective until further notice. Posted 9:55AM July 7, 2023

In the evening of Thursday, July 6, 2023, a fuel leak was discovered adjacent to the First Street Dock in Tofino Harbour. Tofino Volunteer Fire Department, RCMP, & BC Hydro arrived quickly to close the dock and secure the scene. The owners of the fuel system shut down the fuel system and drained the fuel tank to prevent further leakage. BC Hydro shut off power to the dock.

First Street dock remains closed to ensure public safety until the fuel system is deemed safe by the appropriate authority. Please stay clear of the area. Fourth Street dock is available as alternate access.
