Situated in the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation where an enriching relationship exists between our community members and the natural environment, Tofino promotes healthy civic engagement supporting a creative and resilient community of varied ages that is socially, environmentally and economically diverse.

2025-2029 Financial Plan

The District of Tofino has begun the 2025-2029 Financial Plan process, and residents are invited to get involved and engage.

Source Control Bylaw

The District is currently developing a Source Control Regulation Bylaw and are asking for feedback from residents & businesses.

Stage 2 Water Conservation Begins May 29, 2023

May 25, 2023

May 2023 has been a significantly hotter and drier month than usual. On average, Tofino receives ~150mm of rain in May, this year Tofino has received only ~4.2mm of rain to date. Tofino’s water consumption is up as well, an increase of 10% from May 2022 (up to May 21), and up 50% from 2021. ⁠

Effective at noon Pacific Daylight Time on Thursday, May 18, 2023, most open burning activities will be prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. This prohibition is being enacted to help reduce wildfire risk and protect public safety.
