The District of Tofino is now accepting applications for the next Poet Laureate.

This two-year role runs from May 2026 to April 2028 and includes an honorarium of $5,000 per year.

The Poet Laureate serves as an ambassador for literacy, creating and sharing poetry that reflects the stories, places, and values of our community.

Writers and poets from Tofino, Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, Ahousaht First Nation, Hesquiaht First Nation, Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ First Nation and Ucluelet are invited to apply.

Applications close March 20, 2026, at 4 PM.
