Downtown Pay Parking in Effect Beginning May 1, 2026

The District of Tofino wishes to remind residents that Downtown Pay Parking will be in effect from May 1 to October 31, 2026, from 9 AM to 6 PM daily.
Residents of Tofino, Tla-o-qui-aht, Ahousaht, and Hesquiaht: Receive free Downtown Pay Parking with an annual Beach Pay Parking permit. No further steps are required if you are registered for Beach Pay Parking.
Downtown Tofino Residents: You must display a decal on your vehicle to gain access to parking on your street. Decals cost $150 per decal. Decals must be collected at the Municipal Office with proof of address and ID.
Residents of Ucluelet, Port Alberni, and Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD): Receive Downtown Pay Parking by purchasing an annual Beach Pay Parking permit for $60.
Visitors: There are three ways to pay by the hour: at a physical meter, using the Honk Mobile app, or PayByPhone by calling 1-888-680-7275.
Additional Information
- Parking at the Municipal Office lots is not included in the free residents' permit for Downtown Pay Parking. These lots are designed for long-term parking.
- Free parking is available from 6 to 9 AM and 6 to 11 PM year-round. Overnight parking is prohibited.
- Downtown has sections with time-restricted parking that offer free parking for 15 minutes to 2 hours, available year-round.
- Residents and visitors are encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation, such as biking, walking, and public transit, instead of driving and parking in the downtown core when possible.
