BC Hydro Vegetation Management Activities

BC Hydro has notified the District of Tofino that BC Hydro is implementing scheduled vegetation management activities in this area.

As you may be aware, BC Hydro conducts vegetation management work in order to clear or remove vegetation that may endanger BC Hydro electrical equipment or obstruct lines. The work is necessary for public safety, worker safety, to help reduce outages, reduce wildfire risk and to protect BC Hydro equipment.

The scheduled vegetation maintenance project in the District of Tofino is scheduled to start April 12, 2022 and has a completion date of July 15, 2022. Minor vehicle delays are expected while work is underway.

BC Hydro is dedicated to ensuring the safety of its staff and contractors as well as public safety. BC Hydro staff and contractors are directed to comply with standard safety procedures in the performance of vegetation management work.
