Open Letter to the Community

The District of Tofino Mayor, Council and staff would like to thank the community of Tofino during these past few days of the Atmospheric River events. The preparedness and actions taken by the community as a whole demonstrates the resilience of Tofitians.

The Emergency Operations Centre is in the process of demobilizing as the rains subside. The communications team will continue to monitor the situation and update the public via the District of Tofino website and social media channels as needed.

Sandbag stations will remain open until Noon on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. The public are welcome to keep their sandbags for future events or they can be returned to the filling stations.
