BC Hydro system improvement work on Hwy 4

Notice from BC Hydro
Over the next few months, BC Hydro will be doing vegetation work along Highway 4 into Tofino. To have enough power supply for Tofino's new wastewater treatment facility and other planned developments, BC Hydro must upgrade the distribution system into town. The system improvement work will occur along Highway 4, from Industrial Way to Tree Frog Lane. New Poles will replace the current ones to allow additional power lines. Prior to the pole replacement, vegetation that poses a hazard to the new power line will either be trimmed or removed.
We hope to have all vegetation work completed prior to nesting season of late-February 2023, and the power line work within the District of Tofino completed by March 2023. We appreciate your patience.
